European reggae contest 2010

Zionyouth participates for the second time at the European reggae contest.

This year we are at the finals of the Benelux, this will take place on june 18'th at the Muziekgieterij, Maastricht (NL).

Soundsystem

Project: Scool building project in Africa

With Zionyouth vzw we support a school building project in West Africa (Togo). Like in the whole African continent, also Togo (Kpalimé Kloto), the classrooms for primary schools are still too small. Most children follow lessons with 60 of them in one room. Therefore a part of the money that comes out from our activities (concerts, percussions, arts, soundsystem and cd's.) will be used as a fair trade in the School Building Project. We chose Togo for this project cause we have a verry good contact there who can assure us that the money reach the goal. We will keep you updated on the deveopments of our projects. Project: Charity Tour

As reggae crew, soundsystem and Nayabingi percussion workshop, our goal is to bring people from all cultures and social situations together with a charity tour in refuge centers, prisons or psychiatric institutions, festivals and multy cultural activities,... We still feel how society judges people who for some reasons can't take a full part in our community. These reasons can be that they come from a different culture or they might have a psychic our mental handicap. As Rasta's we can't forget these people and leave them behind. It's our job to bring Jah music to those who need it most of all. To give them hope,support and healing trough JAH INSPIRATION. "RASTAFARI" "Have pitty on those whose chance grows thinner.
